The Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, formerly the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is a full-size luxury SUV produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2006. It is a three-row, seven-passenger vehicle positioned above the GLE-Class, and is the largest and eldest member of the Mercedes-Benz SUV family.
The GLS shares the same unibody architecture with the GLE-Class. Most of its exterior and interior styling is identical to the GLE, with some additional chrome accents and badging to differentiate it as the flagship SUV. It was renamed in 2016, following the renaming of the GL-Class to GLE-Class. The GLS is produced at the Mercedes plant in Alabama. It went on sale in the United States in mid-2015 as a 2016 model year vehicle.
